Day 323 - Saturday, November 19, 2011

Day 323 - Saturday, November 19, 2011 – Prepping the turkey that we pre-ordered from Fresh Source farms.  Free range, organic, goodness.  Our farmer, Lindsay, even delivered the bird right to our front door on her way home from taking her kids to the dentist.  There's just something comforting about being on a first name basis with the person that grows and harvests your food.

Day 226 - Sunday, August 14, 2011 – My new-found fascination with food has turned me into a non-stop cooking fool. Prepping for potato leek soup. Yum-O!

Day 215 - Wednesday, August 3, 2011

Day 215 - Wednesday, August 3, 2011 – I am on a locally grown, organic food kick since watching the documentary Food, Inc. a few days ago. I have a new appreciation for food that I’ve never had before. Isn’t this stuff gorgeous?!

Day 150 - Monday, May 30, 2011

Day 150 - Monday, May 30, 2011 - You know that summer has officially started when it manifests itself on a plate in this way. Tomato, basil, mozzarella, and balsamic is how summer tastes.

Day 121 - Sunday, May 1, 2011

Day 121 - Sunday, May 1, 2011 – When I returned from my girls' weekend in Traverse City, Kevin had already departed for a two week trip to Poland which will span Mother's day next Sunday. Knowing he would be gone on MY day, I told him earlier in the week that he'd better deliver on my gift this year....and did he ever! This is the first installment of my quarterly case of wine club that he had set up very artfully on the table in my office. Thanks hon, but there might not be any wine left when you get home.

Day 116 - Tuesday, April 26, 2011 – We hard boiled six dozen eggs on Good Friday with the intent of dyeing them for Easter. Um, yeah, never got around to the dyeing part. Therefore, egg salad. It's what's for dinner.

Day 90 - Thursday, March 31, 2011 - It's been a double sangria fisted kind of day.
