Day 170 - Sunday, June 19, 2011 - The kids each gave Kev a case of beer for Father's Day. That should last him the summer. Yeah, right. Classy gift, I know. My mom, Shawn, Bailey, and Bella came over to be together on our first Father's Day without my dad. We made a meal that he would have loved to eat....rib eyes and NY strips, red skin potatoes, baked beans, broccoli slaw, K&M salad, chocolate covered strawberries, and watermelon.

Day 160 - Thursday, June 9, 2011 - Owen swam like a fish last night, and woke up in the middle of the night screaming that his ear hurt. I'm guessing it was pressure from build up that was exacerbated by all the swimming. Whatever it was, it caused him to MISS the last day of school. I took him up to the school in the afternoon to gather his things and to give Mrs. Bull her gift. He is not going to miss anything about school over the summer break and he certainly didn't mind missing the last day of first grade.

Too bad April and her family no longer live in Michigan. I hope we don't let another couple of decades pass us by before getting together again.
